Big Ideas [Video]

FREE EVOLVING TECHNOLOGY CONCEPTS TRAINING

To most people, technology is too complex to understand.  All those
crazy terms
and words and just how do you build you build a cloud on
the ground, get it up in the air, and how do you get a network cable up there anyway to connect with a Cloud?

Interestingly enough, technology can be viewed as a collection of fundamental ideas that help people solve problems.  All this seems very complex until you look at it in pieces using simple terms to understand the complex things.

There are a growing number of awareness/educational videos (most are under 5 minutes) produced by a global company well recognized in the areas of Trust, Cloud and Big Data.

There is no tuition, there are no fees and you don't have to sign in for sign up for anything.  This training is available on YouTube.com for the benefit of all interested in learning and understand the rapid evolution of technology today.   You can learn what people are talking about in simple and easy to understand terms and concepts.

Go to http://www.YouTube.com and use the keywords emc big ideas
and discover how easy it is to learn technology.

The "DELL EMC Big Ideas" videos run anywhere from under 35 seconds to just over 44 minutes most running in the 12 to 15 minute range.  Due to the popularity of these make certain that the owner or publisher of the video is listed as DELL EMC as copies have been made by others that are potentially unsave.  You can see how technology is evolving NASCAR and competitive motorcycle racing.

Many of these technologies are already around us and changing our lives.  While some may argue it will not impact people ... realize the history of technology changes:
  • Edison's light bulb
was not immediately recognized for the change it brought to people until people discovered what value it brought to their life

  • Henry Ford's first cars
were viewed as being for the social elite who could afford such luxury until mass production drove cost and prices down to fit most family budgets where it is a necessity of life for nearly any teenager

  • ARPANET users
were "academic nerds" (if you even heard of the ARPANET)
until ARPANET evolved into the Internet and the Internet became widely available

  • Computer people
    were "geeks"
until computers were affordable and portable ... now you're weird if you don't have one or more

  • Big Data
can range from selling you a Banana Split or protecting the United States through analysis of data from various sources.  It can mean newer more effective medicines in less time at less cost to develop and test.  It can help us plan traffic lights for more uniform thus faster traffic flows during all hours of the day.  It can reduce credit card fraud through real-time detection.  Big Data allows Data Scientists to examine specific areas using massive amounts of data to see what is going on and how can that knowledge be used to improve things.

  • The UNIVAC computer
was distrusted by CBS News during the Dewey-Eisenhower election as polling experts projected Dewey to have the election "in the bag".  The computer produced the forecast for Eisenhower to win; this was the first commercial computer.  CBS, over internal concerns, withheld the announcement for hours until indications supported the very early prediction of the computer.  Thus the photograph of Dwight Eisenhower showing the newspaper headlines "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN" from the Chicago Daily Tribune.  UNIVAC was the world's first commercial computer and installed at and for the United States Bureau of the Census.

  • Data Data
can range from selling you a Banana Split or protecting the United States through analysis of massive seemingly unrelated data from many different sources. Big Data is also being used to detect Credit Card Fraud, determine if a new medication is possible, targeted marketing and advertising, and many other new fields.

  • The Cloud
allows you access to your data from any where at any time with automatic backups.
You can add the resources you need for your computer center/data center in minutes not months whether it is for memory, processors or storage.  It is reducing costs at multiple levels and opening new opportunities for access to technologies.  Who would believe people were actually building a cloud on the ground in a matter of days.

  • Trust
    is allowing
a more secure environment between you, your computer(s) and your data across fast global networks or in your local area
It took the computer 40 years to become affordable and portable.  The 3rd Platform of computing is coming with mobile devices (smart phones, tablets, watches and more to come).  While not yet there, Platform 2.5 is often referenced as our current technology state.  This platform is driving the Cloud, Virtual Data Centers, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service and others.  Data Centers which were once defined by the hardware within reinforced walls are now software defined devices with no geographic bounds.  The new technologies are either already here and growing or will be in full bloom within the next 15 years.  Watch and understand the technology that will leave a larger impact on people, companies and countries that the Internet ever could!  Technology is changing at a rapid pace that will drive new opportunities across many markets, goods and services.  The best is getting better!
