   ... HIRE ME NOW BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS ME!

   Clearly not a recommended process to be visible.
   So ... what do you need to do to achieve visibility? 
 
   For some job seekers, there is a perception unemployment is -3% (which is impossible).
    Visibility is essential which requires a lot of planned, focused and laborious effort
   but, when done well, can land you a great job in less time than wishing for a job.

   Each of the following is discussed on separate tabs in this section. All of them are
   highly recommended; some to do, some to forget.





   1.   Connections
       
  Sometimes called "Friends and Family", these are people you know who can help you get to
          people they know to help you reach the people you need to be introduced to. Many shy away from
          this because it involves actually talking to people and meeting them. Welcome to the skill sets you
          need to build up no matter how you look for a job. At some point every job seekers has to come
          in contact with another human they don't know or know well and make an outstanding impression
          on.  Welcome to Sales 101.

   2.  Job Boards
Time has proven this is not an effective vehicle to get you employed. While they do list many
positions, you have no visibility into the key people you need, you are dealing with a "drop box"
and you may be chasing a job that is being filled or filled for two months but never taken down.

Not all Job Boards are well managed and some will have a short existance. Many offer a means to find the job of your dreams but the tools they create or acquire often leave few good results costing you time, frustration, lost opportunity and other stuff.

   2.  LinkedIn
If you consider yourself as a professional, open a free account, build a Profile and get started now.
In 2005 they had just under 188,000 members, they are now over 450,000,000 members across
multiple countries and industries.  LinkedIn gives you an advantage in that:
   a)  included are Recruiters, Hiring Managers, people in your industry, companies of interest to you
   b)  you can build a "Profile" which is your Resume on Steroids
   c)  you can include attachments of photos winning impressive awards, list of your recognitions
        that won't fit into your Profile or a Resume, reasons why you are better than others.  If it can
        be created, chances are you can post it as an attachment.
   d)  dedicates areas for each position you held with space for details
   e)  dedicated areas for Copyrights, Patents, Inventions, etc.
   f)  dedicated areas for Volunteerism to show you're a great person
   g)  LinkedIn has a place where jobs are posted organized and searchable by Company Name
   h)  if you have enough connections, LinkedIn can point you to people to connect with regarding
        that company
   i)   includes "Groups" which can be anything, include your professional areas of interest, your
        industry, companies, hobbies, colleages, and universities, fun stuff, etc.
   k)  Groups allow you to use InMail to contact any member of that group without paying fees to
        LinkedIn allowing you to reach out to more people about your job search including seeking
        their advice and counsel or looking for contacts for positions and companies you are focused on.

   3.  Recruiters
Recruiters can bring value as they sometimes have access to the Hiring Manager and Human Resources at companies using their services. The problem is, they are competing against multiple Recruiting Agencies seeking to place someone for the same position. This is a fast moving business where time is a precious commodity. This means don't expect to hear from them often. Their focus is to help their customer and place as many people as quickly as possible to achieve their quotas. It is not uncommon to find recruiters who have worked at different Agencies over their career, sometimes involving different cities. It is not a job for the meak.
